Iceland Golden Circle Highlights: Top Things to Do
Come with us as we explore Iceland's amazing Golden Circle, filled with waterfalls, geysers, a giant crater, and tectonic plates? All within about 90 minutes of each other?! This is one incredible adventure that you have to experience for yourself.
In this video, we start at Gullfoss. If you're doing the entire Golden Circle in one day (which is totally possible - a roundtrip circle trip from Reykjavik is about 3.5 hours of driving, plus you’ll want about 5 hours of total visiting time at the sites), you'll likely start in Reykjavik and then head east, with your first stop at Kerid Crater. We cover Kerid Crater at the end of this video because although it is still a highlight of the Golden Circle, in our minds it’s the least impressive part. If you want to map out your route, here are your stops: Start in Reykjavik ➡️ Kerid Crater ➡️ Gullfoss ➡️ Geysir & Strokkur ➡️ Bruarfoss ➡️ Thingvellir National Park ➡️ Back to Reykjavik.
This video focuses on those five major stops along of the Golden Circle: Gullfoss, Geysir & Strokkur geothermal area, Bruarfoss, Thingvellir National Park, and Kerid Crater. These are by far the highlights on the entire Golden Circle route. There are some other minor stops and there are lots of beautiful landscapes along the way (although not as beautiful as the south coast, if you have more time definitely check that out: ua-cam.com/video/1fk04WT9hMA/v-deo.html), but these 5 stops are definitely the top things to do along the Golden Circle route.
As you'll see in the video, we hadn't planned on visiting Thingvellir on this day, so we hadn't planned out our route and ended up wandering around and walking a lot farther than necessary. I mention a blog post for a Thingvellir National Park guide that shows you exactly where to go and how to get around to see everything in minimal time. Here's a link to that post: perfectlittleplanet.com/thingvellir-national-park-guide/
If you still have questions after watching the video, ask us in the comments! We respond to everything.
Timestamps for all the places we visited in this video:

2:20 Geysir and Strokkur
6:57 Bruarfoss
8:30 Thingvellir National Park
13:38 Isa’s worst nightmare
14:45 Kerid Crater
Thanks for watching!

Hello! How do you obtain the Royal Elite status and would it be wise to upgrade to Royal elite?

    • @PerfectLittlePlanet
      @PerfectLittlePlanet 29 днів тому

Getting Royal Elite allows you to eat at any of the restaurants at any time, which is really nice. You also have access to a royal elite-only pool, but honestly we never went in there because it's small and not as fun as the other pools. Our friends have the Royal Elite status already, so that's what we had. I'm not sure what the cost to upgrade is, so I can't say if the difference in price is worth it or not.

My older brother was in the US Army during the 1960s. He visited the Alamo back then and he was very disappointed in what was left of the Alamo at that time. He told me that most of the walls were only 8 feet high and it was easy to see that it would have been very difficult to defend. That Said the state of Texas has continued to work on the Alamo and the site is greatly improved since the 1960s

I like your "secular" description of Herculaneum, BUT, the skylight did not have to collect water. If you watch the official archaeological video, it had Roman aqueducts that flowed continually through the systems of Herculaneum, split into three main inlets, 1) the baths, 2) the homes and 3) the public fountains, etc. ;o) Other than that, the lady is a little more believable than the man whom seems just "overwhelmed" at what he is seeing. Really can't blame him much. What you see there is just flat-out amazing. Oh, and one other note to the gentleman, Hercules was ... relieving himself ... not playing.

I've been going to central park on my own since I was 14 that's 1984 with my bike . Now I been living two blocks from the park for the last 30 years and I go almost every day. With the electric scooter I go all over the park. Millionaire bum tourest and and local even a crazy person all enjoying the park. 1. Safest place to be a night is anywhere below 86 st. East or west . I see room for improvements when it comes to security . City needs to embrace robotics tech. Robotic drones and path riding drones for surveillance. Cops don't need to come up to you but watch everything they can until they see a crime. Repaint the line on the road with glow paint. Put public bathrooms near police areas.

We didn't drive, so we can't offer any insights on the rental car process. But the roads are fine. Mainly highways the whole way. We had quite a bit of traffic as we were leaving Mexico City, but it was normal traffic - nothing chaotic like southeast asia or anything. Have fun!
